Eligibility Criteria For SBI PO Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualification (As on 30.09.2026)
- Candidates must possess a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
- Candidates possessing professional qualifications such as Engineering, Medical, Chartered Accountant (CA), or Cost Accountant are also fully eligible to apply.
- Final Year Students Notice: Aspirants who are currently in their final year or final semester of graduation may also apply provisionally. However, if they are shortlisted for the interview round, they must produce definitive proof of having passed their graduation examination on or before September 30, 2026. Final year Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) candidates must also ensure their passing date falls on or before this deadline.
Age Limit (As on 01.04.2026)
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 30 Years
- Birth Date Window: Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1996 and not later than 01.04.2005 (both days inclusive).
- Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxations apply for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen) strictly in accordance with standard government norms.

Selection Process & New Changes
The competitive selection framework for the SBI PO 2026 recruitment consists of a comprehensive three-tier process:
- Phase I (Preliminary Examination): A 100-mark objective test lasting 1 hour. There are no sectional cut-offs. A penalty of 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for wrong answers.
- Phase II (Main Examination): Comprises a 200-mark objective test and a newly revised 50-mark descriptive test pattern, spanning a total duration of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
