Pay Scale & Monthly Emoluments (TRCA)

Gramin Dak Sevaks are paid Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) with an annual increment of 3% along with Dearness Allowance:

  • Branch Postmaster (BPM): Rs. 12,000/- to Rs. 29,380/- per month
  • Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) / Dak Sevak: Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 24,470/- per month

Eligibility Criteria: Qualification & Age Limit

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Secondary School Examination (Class 10th) from a recognized Board with passing marks in Mathematics and English.
  • Meghalaya Local Language Requirement:
    • For Sixth Schedule Areas in East Garo Hills, North Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, West Garo Hills, and South West Garo Hills: Must have studied both Hindi or English, AND Garo up to Class 10th.
    • For Sixth Schedule Areas in East Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills, East Jaintia Hills, South West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, and Ri Bhoi: Must have studied both Hindi or English, AND Khasi up to Class 10th.
    • For the rest of the areas in Meghalaya not under the Sixth Schedule: Must have studied Hindi or English up to Class 10th.
  • Other Essential Requirements: Basic knowledge of computers, knowledge of cycling, and adequate independent means of livelihood.
  • Age Limit (as on 21.09.2026): Minimum 18 years and Maximum 40 years.
