The Indian Navy has officially released the notification for the 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme for the course commencing in January 2027. Applications are invited from unmarried male and female candidates who want to join the Indian Navy as Permanent Commissioned Officers in its Technical branches. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a prestigious four-year B.Tech program at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala.

Total Vacancies & Age Eligibility
The Indian Navy has announced a total of 60 vacancies for this entry. The vacancies are split evenly across two major engineering branches:
- Mechanical Engineering: 30 Vacancies (Open for Men and Women)
- Electronics & Communication Engineering: 30 Vacancies (Open for Men and Women)
Important Note on Women Vacancies: Out of the total 60 seats, a maximum of 08 vacancies are reserved for women, with 04 seats designated for Mechanical Engineering and 04 seats for Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Additionally, based on merit and performance during training at INA, 07 candidates from the Mechanical Engineering stream will be selected to pursue a B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding at NCW, Kochi.
Age Limit
Candidates must be born between 02 Jul 2007 and 01 Jan 2010 (both dates inclusive) to be eligible to apply for this course.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from any recognized Board.
- Must have secured a minimum of 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
- Must have scored at least 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII.
Mandatory Exam Requirement
Candidates must have appeared for the JEE (Main) 2026 exam for B.E./B.Tech. The call-up for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview will be strictly issued based on the JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) 2026 published by the NTA.
Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of the following phases:
- Shortlisting: Naval Headquarters will fix a cut-off score to shortlist candidates based on their JEE (Main) All India Common Rank List (CRL) 2026. Shortlisted individuals will be notified via SMS and Email.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo SSB interviews scheduled from September 2026 onwards at designated centers in Bengaluru, Bhopal, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam.
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a rigorous medical examination. (Candidates already declared medically fit for NDA/INA Jan 2027 entry do not need to repeat it).
- Merit List: A final common merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks and medical fitness.{inAds}
Training and Benefits
Selected candidates will be inducted as Cadets for the 4-year B.Tech program. Upon successful completion of the course, a B.Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
- Zero Training Cost: The entire cost of training, including reading materials and books, is completely borne by the Indian Navy.

- Keep your original 10th and 12th certificates, JEE (Main) 2026 scorecard, and a passport-size photograph scanned in JPG/TIFF format ready.

- Register yourself and carefully fill out the online e-application. Make sure to input your correct personal particulars and JEE Main Common Rank List (CRL) rank.
- Submit the application. Note that no changes or amendments will be allowed after final submission.
- Print a copy of the completed application form to carry with you to the SSB interview.
