The National Skill Training Institute for Women (NSTI W), Tura, Meghalaya, operating under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, has officially released its admission notification for the academic session 2026-27.

  • Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA): There are 48 sanctioned seats. To apply, candidates must have passed their 10th class examination.
  • Dress Making: There are 40 sanctioned seats. This course requires candidates to have passed at least the 8th class examination.
  • Cosmetology: There are 24 sanctioned seats available. Candidates must have passed their 10th class examination.
  • Fashion Design & Technology: There are 24 sanctioned seats. Eligibility requires a pass in the 10th class examination.
  • Secretarial Practice (English): There are 24 sanctioned seats. Applicants must have completed their 10th class examination.

Age Limit and Fee Structure

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be above 14 years of age as of August 1, 2026. There is no upper age limit.
  • Registration Fee: ₹50 for General/OBC candidates. There is absolutely no registration fee for SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
  • Admission Fee: ₹100 for General/OBC candidates and ₹25 for SC/ST candidates.
  • Gymkhana Fee: ₹100 for General/OBC candidates.
  • Tuition & Examination Fee Waiver: For all women candidates, the Tuition Fee and Examination Fees are entirely exempted (except for CBT fees).

Important Instructions for Candidates

  1. Handwritten Application: The application form must be filled out directly by the candidate in her own handwriting.
  2. Merit-Based Selection: Admissions will be strictly handled on a merit basis.
  3. One Trade Policy: Only one application form is required for a single trade. If you wish to apply for multiple trades, you must submit separate application forms for each trade.
  4. Mandatory Details: Admission is granted only to candidates who possess a valid Aadhar Number, unique mobile number, and unique email ID. No changes to the registered mobile number or email ID will be permitted during the training period.
  5. Hostel Facility: NSTI Tura provides a hostel facility on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on seat availability. The hostel fee is highly nominal at ₹1,250 per year. Mess charges are separate and cost approximately ₹3,500 per month.
