Detailed Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Fellow/Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India. 

Required Work Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of 18 years of similar work experience in Government departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), or an equivalent position in the industry. Out of this total experience, candidates must meet at least one of the following pay level benchmarks:

  • At least 15 years of experience in Pay Level-11 and above, OR 
  • At least 8 years of experience in Pay Level-12 and above, OR 
  • At least 3 years of experience in Pay Level-13. 

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 55 years as on the last date of publication of the advertisement.

The Institute reserves the right to relax requirements related to age, qualifications, and experience in exceptional and deserving cases.

Job Description & Responsibilities

The selected candidate will act as the overall in-charge of the Finance and Accounts Office at IIM Shillong. Core responsibilities include:

  • Comprehensive maintenance of institute accounts and financial disbursements.
  • Managing institutional investments, preparing budget estimates, and coordinating statutory auditing.
  • Ensuring complete compliance with tax laws and meeting other statutory requirements.
  • Handling any other administrative or financial responsibilities assigned by the Institute authorities.

Application Fee

The application fee must be paid online, and it is non-refundable:

  • General Category Candidates: Rs. 400/- (including GST) 
  • SC / ST / OBC Candidates: Rs. 200/- (including GST) 
  •  Women Candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Fully exempted from paying any fee.{inAds}

Selection Process & Travel Reimbursement

Applications will undergo screening by a dedicated committee. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via the institute's website and called for an interview. All communication, including interview call letters and final appointment letters, will be sent strictly via email.

To support outstation candidates, those called for the interview will be reimbursed for to-and-fro air travel via economy class.

Educational Qualification Certificates and Mark Sheets 

Experience Certificates proving the required pay levels 

Caste Certificate (For SC, ST, or NC-OBC candidates seeking relaxation) 

1 (one) recent passport-size photograph with your Full Name written clearly on the back.

Note: Candidates already employed in Government Service must forward their application through the Proper Channel or present a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of the interview.
