Post Wise Vacancy Details & Eligibility Criteria
1. Position: Laboratory Associate / Project Scientist-B (Non-Medical)
- Number of Vacancies: 1 Post
- Tenure: 1 year (extendable)
- Essential Qualification: First-class Postgraduate degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Life Sciences, or relevant science disciplines from a recognized university/institution.
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant research or work experience in a molecular biology/molecular diagnostic laboratory.
- Demonstrated experience in molecular surveillance, genomic surveillance, molecular diagnostics, handling molecular lab techniques, and operating specialized equipment.
- Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Overseeing sample collection, transportation, testing, and long-term archiving of human biological samples (serum, saliva).
- Processing, analyzing, and interpreting laboratory data and results.
- Developing new methods and protocols for microbiological, biochemical, and biological analyses.
- Coordinating logistics and data sharing with internal teams and external laboratory partners.
- Writing research papers, reports, summaries, and contributing to new funding proposals.
- Mentoring and supervising trainee researchers and support staff.
2. Position: Laboratory Assistant / Project Technical Support
- Number of Vacancies: 1 Post
- Tenure: 1 year (renewable based on performance)
- Essential Qualification: 12th Standard (Science stream) with a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/MLT) or equivalent; OR a Graduate degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Desirable Experience:
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a microbiology, molecular biology, medical laboratory, or public health laboratory.
- Familiarity with sample handling, nucleic acid extraction, PCR-related procedures, immunological assays, and microscopic parasite identification.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and stock/inventory management.
- Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assisting in sample collection, processing, and preparation (human, animal, and environmental samples).
- Assisting in nucleic acid extraction and PCR procedures for vector-borne pathogen identification.
- Performing microscopic identification of specimens and conducting immunological assays.
- Maintaining stock/inventory records for laboratory consumables and reagents.
- Undertaking field visits to designated study sites as required.
- Uploading weekly progress updates, maintaining logs, and assisting in report generation.{inAds}
