Minimum Educational & Technical Qualifications
Aspirants must possess the following qualifications from a recognized Board, University, or Institute on or before the application closing date:
Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognized NCVT/SCVT institutions in the following trades:
Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio & TV), Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, Armature & Coil Winder, Mechanic (Diesel), Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, or Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic.
Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the aforementioned trades.
Three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering.
Degree in the Engineering disciplines listed above (in lieu of a Diploma).
Note: Candidates awaiting the final results of their prescribed qualifications are not eligible to apply.{inAds}
Medical Standards (A-1 Category)
Due to the safety-critical nature of the post, candidates must meet stringent A-1 medical standards:
- General Fitness: Physically fit in all respects.
- Distant Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses (must pass fogging test).
- Near Vision: Sn. 0.6, 0.6 without glasses.
- Vision Tests: Must pass tests for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision, Night Vision, and Mesopic Vision.
- Refractive Surgery: Candidates who have undergone LASIK or any other corrective eye surgery are strictly not eligible.

Visit the official RRB website corresponding to your chosen zone.
Create an Account: Use an active mobile number and a valid email ID. Note that details in the 'Create an Account' form cannot be modified later.
Fill Application: Provide educational, technical, and community details.
Upload Documents: Provide a live photograph and scanned signature as per the technical specifications in the notice.
Fee Payment: Pay the required fee online through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI by June 16, 2026.
Examination Fee Details
Candidates must pay the prescribed fee according to their community or category as detailed below:
- General Candidates: A fee of ₹500 is applicable. Out of this, ₹400 will be refunded (minus bank charges) to those who actually appear in the 1st Stage CBT.
- Reserved Categories: Candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities, or Economically Backward Class (EBC) must pay ₹250. This full amount of ₹250 (minus bank charges) will be refunded to candidates who appear in the 1st Stage CBT.
- Important Note for EBC: Candidates claiming the EBC concession must have a valid document like an EBC certificate (Annexure IV), BPL card, or Izzat MST at the time of application. The annual family income for EBC must be less than ₹50,000.
