Comprehensive Eligibility Criteria

Students who have passed or appeared for their final year graduation examination and are awaiting results are fully eligible to apply. All applicants for regular Master's Degree Programmes must hold a valid PG CUET score.

General Eligibility

  • Two-Year Master's Degree: Candidates must possess a 3-year Bachelor's degree from a recognized University/Institute and a valid PG CUET score.
  • EWS Category: Applicants must submit a valid income and asset certificate issued by a competent authority during physical document verification.

Special Discipline-Specific Requirements

  • M.A. / M.Sc. in Anthropology: First preference goes to B.A. / B.Sc. (Major/Honours) in Anthropology. Second preference goes to Arts majors (Sociology, History, Political Science, Economics) and Science majors (Zoology, Botany, Home Science, Biochemistry).
  • M.Sc. in Environmental Science: Requires a Bachelor’s in Science (Honours) in Environmental Sciences or allied life science subjects.
  • M.Sc. Forestry: 4-year (8 Semesters) Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Horticulture, or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST).
  • M.Sc. in Geology: 3-year Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3) in Geology. Up to 10% of seats may be offered to allied disciplines if vacancies exist.
  • M.Sc. in Rural Development and Agricultural Production: Open to B.Sc. graduates in Agriculture, Zoology, Botany, Horticulture, Forestry, Biochemistry, Home/Community Science, Dairy Science/Technology, Food Science/Technology, Fishery, Biotechnology, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Sciences, and Microbiology.
  • M.Sc. Food Technology: Graduation (B.Sc./B.Tech./B.Voc.) in Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Technology, Food Science, Home Science, Clinical Nutrition, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Fermentation Technology with 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST).
  • M.Sc. in Horticulture: B.Sc. (Horticulture) or B.Sc. (Agri.) from a 4-year/8-semester program with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST).
  • M.A. in Philosophy: First preference to Philosophy Majors. Second preference to any Major with a simple pass in Philosophy (min 40% marks), or General Pass in Philosophy (min 50% in Philosophy and 45% aggregate). Bachelor of Divinity holders with 60% marks are also considered.
  • M.A. in Linguistics: Major in any subject with 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST) or General Pass with 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST). Selection relies on an admission test and NEHU criteria.
  • M.A. in English: Strictly restricted to candidates with Honours in English (minimum 45% marks) at the undergraduate level.
  • M.Lib.I.Sc.: 3-year degree (Majors) in any subject securing an aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ST).
  • M.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication: Bachelor's degree with Major/Honours in any discipline with 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST).
  • M.Com.: Minimum of 45% marks in aggregate at the B.Com (Honours) level.
  • M.Sc. in Statistics: Graduates with Statistics (Majors) and Mathematics as a pass subject, or Mathematics (Majors) with Statistics as a pass subject, or B.A./B.Sc. with both subjects. NEHU P.G. Diploma in Statistics holders with Math background can also apply.
  • M.A. in Political Science: Strictly restricted to candidates with a B.A. Honours/Major in Political Science.
  • M.A. in History & Archaeology: Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at the undergraduate level in History, Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, or Ancient History.
  • M.A. in History: Strictly restricted to candidates with a B.A. Honours/Major in History.
  • M.A. in Sociology: Strictly restricted to candidates with Honours in Sociology.
  • LL.M.: Candidates must secure 55% (50% for SC/ST) in their LL.B. or equivalent examination.
  • M.Sc. in Biochemistry: Restricted to students with a 3-year B.Sc. Honours degree in Biochemistry.
  • Master of Social Work (MSW): Selection based on qualifying marks and an entrance test. Candidates with Computer Science or Computer Application background receive an additional 5% weightage.
  • M.A. in Education: For admission to M.A. Education, first preference given to Education Majors (min 50% marks). Candidates with 55% marks in B.Ed. (Theory) are also eligible (5% relaxation for SC/ST).

MBA Programme Specific Eligibility & Selection

  • MBA (Tourism and Travel Management): 3-year Bachelor's Degree (10+2+3) in any discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). Must hold a valid CUET (PG) or MAT score. Specializations: Tourism Management, Hotel Management, Tourism Marketing, and Tourism Entrepreneurship.
  • MBA (General) & MBA (Service Management): Bachelor's degree (10+2+3 or 4 mode) in any discipline with min 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) and a valid CUET (PG) or MAT score.
  • MBA (Agribusiness Management): 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST) in Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Allied Agriculture disciplines, B.Sc. Life Sciences, B.Sc. Chemistry, or B.Voc. (Food Processing). Valid CUET (PG) or MAT (AIMA) score required. Selection relies on entrance score, group discussion, and personal interview.

Selection Process & Weightage

  1. Merit List: Generated using CUET (PG) / MAT scores combined with qualifying examination performance and institutional weightages.
  2. EWS Reservation: Candidates must present their valid income and asset certificates.
  3. Educationally Backward Areas Weightage: Meghalaya domicile applicants claiming weightage under this category must fill out and submit the Annexure-I certificate signed by their village Headman and the Block Development Officer (BDO).
