Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Date of Birth Block: Candidates born between 01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to appear.
- Upper Age Limit: Must not exceed 22 years as on the date of enrolment.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have completed any of the following qualifications from a recognized board/institute:
- 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent: Passed in any stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Two Years Vocational Course: Passed with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English was not a subject in the vocational course).
- Three Years Diploma Course: Completed in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or IT) from a recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English.
Note on Marks: Exact aggregate percentages before decimals will be taken as written on the marksheet (e.g., 49.99% will be treated as 49% and will not be rounded off to 50%).
Marital & Physical Standards
Marital Status
- Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Candidates must undertake not to marry during the 4-year engagement period.
- Female candidates must also undertake not to become pregnant during the 4-year tenure.
Physical Standards
- Height (Male): Minimum 152 cm.
- Height (Female): Minimum 152 cm (Candidates of North East ethnicity enjoy a relaxed minimum height requirement of 147 cm).
- Chest (Male): Well-proportioned chest with a minimum circumference of 77 cm and a minimum expansion of 05 cm.
- Chest (Female): Well-proportioned chest with a minimum expansion capability of 05 cm.
- Hearing & Vision: Normal hearing ability (forced whisper from 6 meters). Visual acuity of 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6. LASIK/PRK history is not accepted.
- Body Tattoos: Tattoos are generally prohibited, except on the inner face of the forearm, back of the hand, or customary tribal tattoos.{inAds}
Selection Process
The rally selection procedure is divided into the following sequential stages:
- Verification of Eligibility: Verification of original documents (10th/12th passing certificates, marksheets, Domicile certificate, NCC certificates if applicable, photos, and photo ID).

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
- PFT-I (1.6 Km Run): Within 7 minutes for Male candidates; within 8 minutes for Female candidates.
- PFT-II (Subsequent Exercises):
- Male: 10 Push-ups (1 min), 10 Sit-ups (1 min), 20 Squats (1 min).
- Female: 10 Sit-ups (1 min 30 sec), 15 Squats (1 min).
- Written Test: Objective-type bilingual test (45 minutes duration) covering English (20 questions) and Reasoning & General Awareness / RAGA (30 questions). Marking includes +1 for correct answers and -0.25 negative marking for wrong answers.
- Adaptability Test-I & Adaptability Test-II: Objective tests to assess suitability for service deployment in varied terrains and military life.
- Medical Examination: Comprehensive medical examination conducted by the Indian Air Force Medical Team.
Package and Benefits
- Tenure: Enrolment for a period of 4 years under the Air Force Act 1950.

- 1st Year: ₹30,000/- (In hand: ₹21,000/-)
- 2nd Year: ₹33,000/- (In hand: ₹23,100/-)
- 3rd Year: ₹36,500/- (In hand: ₹25,550/-)
- 4th Year: ₹40,000/- (In hand: ₹28,000/-)
- Seva Nidhi Package: On completion of 4 years, a one-time Seva Nidhi corpus package of approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (accumulated corpus + government matching contribution) will be paid.
- Insurance: Non-contributory Life Insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs during the engagement period.{inAds}
Mandatory Documents Required at Rally Venue
Candidates must bring the following items to the rally venue:
- HB pencil, eraser, sharpener, glue stick, stapler, black and blue ballpoint pens.
- 10 recent passport-size color photographs (light background, holding a black slate in front of chest with candidate's name and date of photo written clearly with white chalk).
- Original and 4 self-attested copies of Matriculation passing certificate (for DOB verification).
- Original and 4 self-attested copies of 10+2/Intermediate/Diploma/Vocational passing certificate & marksheets (or DigiLocker verified printout).
- Original and 4 self-attested copies of Domicile Certificate issued by an authorized revenue officer.
- Duly filled and signed Consent Form for Physical Fitness Test and Medical Tests.
- Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card or state-issued photo ID for Meghalaya/Assam residents).
