Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on August 01, 2026)
- For SI in Delhi Police & CAPFs: 20 to 25 years. Candidates must be born between August 02, 2001, and August 01, 2006.
- For SI (Fire) in CISF: 18 to 30 years. Candidates must be born between August 02, 1996, and August 01, 2008.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates receive 5 years; OBC candidates receive 3 years. Widows and divorced/judicially separated women can apply up to 35 years (up to 40 years for SC/ST) for Delhi Police posts.
Educational Qualifications (as on September 30, 2026)
- Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.
- Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF: Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics OR Matriculation with a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical, or Telecommunication Engineering.
- Driving License Mandatory Requirement: Male candidates applying for SI in Delhi Police must have a valid LMV (Motorcycle and Car) driving license on the date fixed for Physical Endurance & Measurement Tests (PE&MT). Male candidates lacking an LMV driving license remain eligible for CAPF SI posts only.

Male Candidates
- General Male Candidates: Minimum Height: 170 cm; Chest: 80 cm unexpanded / 85 cm expanded.
- Male Candidates from Hill Areas (North-Eastern States, Garhwal, Kumaon, HP, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Kashmir Valley, Leh & Ladakh): Minimum Height: 165 cm; Chest: 80 cm unexpanded / 85 cm expanded.
- Male Gorkhas (for CAPFs): Minimum Height: 157 cm; Chest: 80 cm unexpanded / 85 cm expanded.
- Scheduled Tribe Male Candidates: Minimum Height: 162.5 cm; Chest: 77 cm unexpanded / 82 cm expanded.
- Scheduled Tribe Male Candidates from NE States (for CAPFs): Minimum Height: 157 cm; Chest: 77 cm unexpanded / 82 cm expanded.
- SI (Fire) Male Candidates (General): Minimum Height: 170 cm; Chest: 81 cm unexpanded / 86 cm expanded.

Selection Process & Examination Pattern
The selection process has four stages: Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper-II, and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).
- Paper-I Structure: 100 objective questions worth 100 marks; duration: 1 hour (15-minute sectional timer per part). Covers General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Qs), General Knowledge (25 Qs), Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs), and English Comprehension (25 Qs). Negative marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
- Paper-II Structure: 100 objective questions worth 200 marks; duration: 1 hour. Covers General Intelligence (20 Qs / 40 marks), General Knowledge (20 Qs / 40 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (20 Qs / 40 marks), and English Comprehension (100 Qs / 200 marks). Negative marking: 0.50 marks per wrong answer.
- Bonus Marks for NCC Certificate Holders: NCC 'C' Certificate holders get 5% bonus marks; NCC 'B' Certificate holders get 3%; NCC 'A' Certificate holders get 2% of maximum marks in both Paper-I and Paper-II.

- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR): Visit the official SSC portal at
https://ssc.gov.in. New users must complete their OTR profile (Note: Registrations from the oldssc.nic.inwebsite are not valid). - Opt for Authentication: Candidates are advised to opt for authentication during OTR. If not using government ID identity verification, upload standard photo identity, DOB proof, address proof, and gender proof documents.
- Fill Out the Application Form: Log in to your profile, navigate to the "Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026" link, and select "Apply".
- Capture Real-Time Photograph: Ensure you are in a well-lit area with a plain background. Use your webcam or the 'mySSC' app to take a live frontal photograph. Do not wear caps, spectacles, or masks.
- Upload Signature: Upload a scanned signature in JPEG format between 10 KB and 20 KB (dimensions ~6.0 cm x 2.0 cm).
- Select Examination Centers: Choose three exam centers in order of preference within the same SSC Region.
- Pay Application Fee: Pay the Rs. 100 fee online unless exempted.
