Selection Procedure for Tura Medical College
The recruitment process is structured to evaluate both academic merit and professional clinical expertise.

Detailed Educational Qualifications as per NMC TEQ 2025
Eligibility for all teaching positions is strictly governed by the NMC Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025.
1. Professor (Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 3,20,000/-)
Educational Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject. For preclinical subjects (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry), an MSc with a PhD is also eligible.
Teaching Experience:
Three years as an Associate Professor in the subject at a recognized medical institution.
OR For Armed Forces personnel: Three years as an Associate Professor in a teaching hospital of the Armed Forces.
OR For Senior Consultants: Three years as a PG teacher in a broad/super specialty subject in an NBEMS-recognized Government institute.
Research & Training: Must have at least two research publications after becoming an Associate Professor (as one of the first three authors) and must have completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research and Medical Education.
2. Associate Professor (Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 2,60,000/-)
Educational Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject.
Teaching Experience:
Assistant Professor in the subject for four years in a recognized medical institution.
OR Five years of experience for those appointed directly as Assistant Professor in a Government medical institution.
OR For Specialist Medical Officers (Armed Forces): Five years of clinical experience after PG, including three years as Assistant Professor in a teaching hospital.
OR For Non-teaching Specialists: PG degree with ten years of experience in a minimum 220-bedded Government hospital.
Research & Training: Must have two research publications as an Assistant Professor (first three authors) and complete both required Basic Courses.
3. Assistant Professor (Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 1,20,000/-)
Educational Qualification: MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch or equivalent degree from an NMC/MCI recognized college.
Experience Requirements:
One year as a Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized medical institution.
Relaxation: One-year SR experience is relaxed for direct appointees in the Government medical institutes.
Equivalency: Experience as a Tutor (with PG) or Demonstrator (with MSc and PhD) is considered equivalent to SR experience.
Medical Officers: PG degree holders with two years of experience in a 220-bedded Government hospital are eligible without SR experience.
