Union Bank of India has officially released a notification for the engagement of 1865 Apprentices under the Apprentice Act, 1961. This recruitment drive offers a golden opportunity for graduates to gain hands-on experience in the banking sector across various states, including Meghalaya. The online application window is open from April 29, 2026, to May 19, 2026.
Key Recruitment Details
Total Vacancies: 1865 Training Seats.
Meghalaya Vacancies: 1 Seat (Unreserved).
Position: Apprentice.
Stipend: ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 per month, depending on the branch category (Rural/Semi-Urban, Urban, or Metro).
Training Duration: 1 Year.
Age Limit (as of 01.04.2026): Minimum 20 years and Maximum 28 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwBD: 10-15 years).
Educational Qualification: Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute. Graduation should have been completed between April 1, 2022, and April 1, 2026.
Local Language Proficiency: Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the state to which they apply to. For Meghalaya, the specified languages are English, Garo, or Khasi.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on an Online Objective Test followed by a Local Language Proficiency Test.
Online Test: This 60-minute examination consists of 100 questions (100 marks) covering General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, and Union Bank of India Products & Services. There is no negative marking.
Language Test: Candidates who cannot produce proof (10th/12th marksheet) of having studied the opted local language will need to clear a proficiency test.
Final Selection: Subject to meeting cut-off marks, document verification, and medical fitness.

General / OBC (Male): ₹944 (including GST).
General / OBC (Female): ₹708 (including GST).
SC/ST: ₹200 (Intimation fees) + GST.
PwBD: No application fee, only intimation charges apply.
