Faith Foundation, a prominent Child Rights Organisation registered in Meghalaya, is currently seeking a dedicated professional for the position of Consultant Child Safeguarding in Schools. Based in the vibrant city of Shillong, this role is at the heart of the organization's mission to prevent child sexual abuse and provide psychosocial support to survivors. The primary objective of this consultancy is to strengthen Child Protection Committees (CPCs) and facilitate the adoption of robust Child Safeguarding policies across more than 20 schools in the East Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi Districts.

Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in child rights and child protection.
Job Responsibilities and Deliverables
The selected consultant will be responsible for a wide array of critical safeguarding initiatives:{inAds}
Policy Development: Reviewing the draft Child Safeguarding Policy and creating a concise one-page policy sheet featuring key parameters and committee roles.
School Coordination: Coordinating with over 20 schools to introduce safeguarding parameters and clarify the responsibilities of internal and external committee members.
CPC Formation & Support: Identifying schools with and without Child Protection Committees (CPCs) and assisting them in aligning with government circulars for committee formation.
Risk Assessment: Supporting schools in identifying potential risks within their environment and facilitating discussions on mitigation and response measures.
Certification: Ensuring schools meet the necessary criteria to be officially recognized as "Child-Friendly Schools" or "Safe Space Schools".
Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of all activities and preparing periodic progress reports.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate strong skills in facilitation, documentation, storytelling, and communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is essential.
