Eligibility Criteria for Meghalaya D.El.Ed Admission 2026
Educational Qualification
Minimum Requirement: Candidates must have passed Class XII (10+2) or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
Relaxation: A relaxation of 5% marks is applicable for ST, SC, OST of Meghalaya, and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) candidates.
Awaiting Results: Candidates currently waiting for their Class XII results are also eligible to apply. However, they must produce their original or provisional documents during the counseling phase, or their candidature will face rejection.
Age Limit (As of 01.01.2026)
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 27 years
Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years for ST, SC, OST of Meghalaya, and PwD candidates.
Selection Procedure
The admission process is strictly regulated to filter the best candidates while supporting local educational frameworks:
- Entrance Test: Candidates must appear for a competitive Entrance Test tentatively scheduled for July 3, 2026 (Friday).
- Counseling Phase: Shortlisted candidates from the entrance examination will be called for a mandatory counseling session.
- Merit & Block-Wise Allotment: Final selection will be strictly based on merit. To facilitate the availability of qualified and trained teachers locally, the allotment of seats will be handled Block-Wise.
- Screening Rigor: Candidates can be rejected at any stage of the screening or selection pipeline if they fail to meet the eligibility requirements or are found to have submitted fraudulent information.
Reservation Policy
State Government Rules: Seat allotment and candidate selection will follow the order of merit in strict compliance with the Meghalaya Government Reservation Policy.
PwD Reservation: A dedicated 5% of the total seats are reserved exclusively for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
District and Block-Wise Application Rule
Voter ID Requirement: Candidates must use their Voter ID Card as proof of residence. You can only apply to the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) located in the specific district where you are registered as a voter.{inAds}

The application fee must be deposited through online modes or via an e-challan generated from the application portal (payable at any branch of the State Bank of India).

- Persons with Disabilities (PwDs): Fully Exempted (Subject to uploading a valid Disability Certificate)
