Age Limit and Cut-off Date The critical cut-off date for determining the age limit is fixed as May 1, 2026. Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years old and must not exceed the maximum age of 28 years on this specified cut-off date.

Upper age relaxation is applicable as per the Government of India directives for reserved categories:

  • Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) candidates receive an upper age relaxation of 5 years.
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC Non-Creamy Layer) candidates receive an upper age relaxation of 3 years.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) qualify for an upper age relaxation of 10 years.
  • Widows, divorced women, and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried receive an age concession up to 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST.
  • Individuals affected by the 1984 riots receive an upper age relaxation of 5 years.


Educational Qualification & Language Proficiency: The educational cut-off date to acquire the required certificate is June 6, 2026.

  • Candidates must possess a Regular Graduation degree in any discipline from a university or institution recognized by the Central Government.
  • Candidates who have completed a postgraduate qualification are explicitly not eligible to apply for this training.
  • Candidates must not have completed more than five years after passing their qualifying graduation examination.
  • Applicants with prior job experience or apprenticeship training of one year or more after completing their qualifications are not eligible.
  • Local Language Requirement: The applicant must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of the chosen State or Union Territory. Candidates must produce an 8th, 10th, 12th, or graduate-level mark sheet or certificate showing they studied the local language as one of their subjects.


Selection Process & Training Terms

Selection Methodology The final selection for the apprentice posts will be determined strictly based on merit, evaluated using the marks scored in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC/10+2) examination. The bank will compile merit lists state-wise, district-wise, and category-wise in descending order of 10+2 marks. If multiple candidates obtain the same cut-off marks, their relative ranking will be decided based on age in descending order. The final engagement remains subject to successful original document verification and being declared medically fit according to the bank's standards.

Training Terms & Working Hours Selected trainees will be engaged for a strict period of 12 months. The daily training hours are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM, and apprentices are not permitted or required to perform any overtime work. Trainees will accumulate one day of Casual Leave for every completed month of training and can avail of a maximum of 4 casual leaves at a single time. No additional travel, daily, or conveyance allowances are provided besides the fixed monthly stipend of Rs. 12,300. It is explicitly clarified that apprentices are considered trainees, not regular employees, and have no legal right to claim permanent employment in the bank after completing their training.

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee and intimation charge through online payment gateways. Any applicable bank transaction or gateway charges must be borne directly by the applicant.

  • General, EWS, and OBC Category Candidates: Rs. 200 plus applicable taxes and gateway charges.
