National Defence Academy (NDA) Army Wing: 208 vacancies (including 198 for male candidates and 10 for female candidates)

National Defence Academy (NDA) Navy Wing: 42 vacancies (including 37 for male candidates and 5 for female candidates; completely allocated to the Executive Branch)

National Defence Academy (NDA) Air Force Wing: * Flying Branch: 92 vacancies (90 for males, 2 for females)

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC NDA & NA II Exam 2026

Nationality and Marital Status

  • Candidates must be unmarried males or unmarried females.
  • Marriage is strictly prohibited during the entire training cycle.
  • The applicant must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who has permanently migrated from specific countries with the intention of permanently settling down in India (provided they possess an official certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India).

Age Limit Bracket

Only those candidates born not earlier than January 1, 2008, and not later than January 1, 2011, are legally eligible to register for this exam cycle.

Educational Qualifications

For NDA Army Wing: Candidates must have passed the 12th Class examination of the 10+2 pattern of school education, or an equivalent qualification recognized by a State Education Board or University.

For NDA Air Force, Navy Wings, and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at INA: Candidates must have cleared the 12th Class exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of school education, or hold an equivalent certification from a recognized board or university.

Note: for Appearing Students: Candidates currently studying in the 12th standard are also eligible to apply online, provided they submit proof of passing their qualifying exam by June 10, 2027. Students who are currently in the 11th standard are not eligible.{inAds}

Physical and Medical Fitness Standards

Candidates must ensure they are in sound mental and physical condition. They must conform strictly to the exhaustive physical and medical fitness standards laid down by the Ministry of Defence for officer entry into the respective service academies.

General / OBC / EWS Male Candidates: Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only).

FEE EXEMPTION: Candidates belonging to SC / ST categories, all female candidates, and Wards of JCOs/NCOs/ORs as specified in the official guidelines are entirely exempted from paying any application fee.

Mode of Payment: The fee can be paid seamlessly using the online net banking facility of any bank, or by using a Visa/Master/RuPay Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI Payment mode while appearing for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination-II, 2026.

Selection Procedure

The selection methodology involves a rigorous, transparent two-stage evaluation:
