Applications are invited from eligible candidates to fill vacancies for Part-Time Naik and Part-Time Lance Naik in the Meghalaya Border Wing Home Guards Battalion. This is an incredible opportunity for local domiciled volunteers to serve under the 'Wages', Highly Skilled Category with government-prescribed honoraria and risk allowances. Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
To be eligible for this Meghalaya Border Wing Home Guards recruitment, candidates must strictly fulfill the following criteria set by the Central Recruitment Board:
1. Nationality & Domicile
- Applicants must be citizens of India.
- Applicants must be permanently domiciled in the state of Meghalaya.
2. Mandatory Experience
- This enrollment is exclusively open to Home Guards Volunteers who have been deployed or engaged with various Requisitioning Agencies.
- Candidates must have a minimum aggregate service period of 3 years (total of 1095 days).
3. Age Limit
- The upper age limit for applicants must not exceed 50 years as of 15th April 2026.
Required Documents for Application
Candidates must submit their Standard Application Form along with attested copies of the following testimonials:
- Two copies of recent passport-size photographs (one must be pasted directly onto the application form).
- Educational Qualification Certificate.
- Birth Certificate or Age Certificate verified as per official school records.
- Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) issued in Meghalaya.
- Home Guards Basic Training Certificate.
- Medical Fitness Certificate issued by an Authorized Government Medical Practitioner or Institution.
- The official Deployment Period Certificate issued in the prescribed format by the District Commandant, Officer Commanding District Training Centre, or Deputy Controller of Civil Defence.
Selection Process & Interview Details
- Screening of Applications: Incomplete applications or submissions without required self-attested documents/certificates will be summarily rejected without any correspondence.
- Personal Interview: Eligible candidates will undergo a Personal Interview conducted across designated centres in Tura and Shillong.
- Important Notification Rule: No individual or separate intimation letters will be dispatched for the interview. Candidates are strictly advised to keep tracking the official Departmental Notice Boards or the official portal (
meghomeguards.gov.in) for the selected list and interview dates. - Interview Preparations: Candidates must bring their original documents and valid ID cards to the interview board. Be prepared to stay for 2 to 3 days under personal arrangements; no TA/DA will be provided.
- Policy Note: Because the recruitment is purely voluntary, the State Reservation Policy/Roaster does not apply to this enrollment process.
