Complete Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Meghalaya B.Tech Dairy Technology admission, candidates must strictly satisfy the following conditions:
1. Residential Requirement
- The applicants must be indigenous inhabitants or permanent residents of the State of Meghalaya.
- Seats will be strictly allotted as per the State reservation policy.
2. Educational Qualification
- Exam Passed: Must have passed the HSSLC (Science) or an Equivalent Examination from any recognized Board of Higher Secondary Education/University in India.
- Compulsory Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB) must be part of the subject combination.
- Minimum Marks: Candidates must attain a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Science subjects and secure not less than 50% marks in Mathematics.
- Tie-Breaker Rule: If the marks obtained in PCMB are identical, the final merit will be determined by considering the English marks.
3. Age Limit
- Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years as on 1st January 2026.
Selection Preferences & Important Notes
- Job Guarantee: The Government explicitly states that it does not give a guarantee of jobs upon completion of their course studies.
- No TA/DA: No Travel Allowance or Daily Allowance will be given for attending the screening verification process.
- Preference Rules: Preference shall be given to:
- (a) Those students who passed HSSLC (Science) Examination in the current year of 2026.
- (b) To those students who opt for B.Tech (Dairy Technology) as their first choice.
- (c) There is no bar for students who have passed during the preceding years to apply.
How to Apply & Form Submission Centers
Eligible candidates can download the Application Form from the official departmental website or collect it physically from the respective District Offices of Dairy Development. Duly filled-in forms along with required documents (as per the checklist in the application form) must be submitted on or before 3rd July 2026 (by 4:00 PM) at the designated centers based on your residential district:
- For West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, and East Garo Hills Districts: Office of the Assistant Director (Dairy Development), Dakopgre, District Veterinary Officer Campus, Tura for applicants residing in these districts.
- For East Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills, and Ri Bhoi Districts: Office of the Senior Dairy Officer, Central Dairy Mawiong, Shillong for applicants residing in these districts.
- For East and West Jaintia Hills Districts: Office of the Senior Dairy Officer, Mynthong, Jowai for applicants residing in these districts.
- For West Khasi Hills and Eastern West Khasi Hills Districts: Office of the Dairy Officer, Chilling Plant Centre, District Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Officer Compound, Nongdein, Nongstoin for applicants residing in these districts.
- For North Garo Hills District: Office of the Dairy Officer, Chilling Plant Centre, Gangdubi, Resubelpara for applicants residing in North Garo Hills District.{inAds}
Screening Process
Screening shall be conducted on 15/07/2026 till 3:00 PM in the respective District Offices of Dairy Development where the duly filled-in application forms are submitted. Students are strictly required to bring with them their Original Certificates for verification on the day of Screening.
