NERIE is inviting eligible candidates to attend a Walk-in-Interview on 06th August 2026 for the recruitment of Assistant Professor (Physical Science) and Assistant Professor (Social Science) purely on a contractual basis.

Post-Wise Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
1. Assistant Professor (Physical Science)
- Vacancies: 01 Post
- Remuneration: ₹45,000/- per month
- Educational Qualification:
- Postgraduate Degree in Sciences (Physics / Chemistry) with a minimum of 55% marks for General candidates (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC Non-Creamy Layer/Differently-abled candidates).
- M.Ed. (Master of Education) degree with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Desirable Experience: Teaching experience in Colleges/Institutions teaching methodology for B.Ed/M.Ed students in Physical Science methods.
2. Assistant Professor (Social Science)
- Vacancies: 01 Post
- Remuneration: ₹45,000/- per month
- Educational Qualification:
- Postgraduate Degree in Social Sciences (History / Political Science / Geography / Economics) with a minimum of 55% marks for General candidates (50% marks for SC/ST/OBC Non-Creamy Layer/Differently-abled candidates).
- M.Ed. (Master of Education) degree with a minimum of 55% marks.
- Desirable Experience: Teaching experience in Colleges/Institutions teaching methodology for B.Ed/M.Ed students in Social Science methods.
Mandatory Eligibility Condition (NET / SLET / SET / Ph.D.)
- Candidates must have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) / SLET / SET in the relevant subject conducted by UGC.
- Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009, 2016, or 2022) are exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET.{inAds}
Important Rules & Ineligibility Criteria
- Prior Service Limit: Candidates who have already worked in NCERT or its constituent units in the same post for more than 2 years are NOT eligible to apply.
- No TA/DA: No Travelling Allowance or Daily Allowance will be paid for attending the interview or joining the post.
- In-Service Candidates: Applicants currently employed must present a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their present employer at the time of the interview.
- Joining Documents: Selected candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of joining and a Police Verification Report within one month of joining.
- Accommodation: Selected candidates can apply for accommodation in the NERIE Guest House on a payment basis, subject to availability.
