1. Headmistress (HM)

  • Academic Qualification: Graduate Degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% from a recognized university. The degree must be in one of the subjects taught in the Middle/Primary classes of the school.   • Professional Qualification: B.Ed. or its equivalent degree recognized by NCTE/UGC/AICTE.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience as a PGT/TGT/PRT, or 3 years as an NTT, or 2 years of experience as a Principal/HM in an Air Force School.
  • Age Limit: 25 to 50 years as of July 01, 2026.
  • Language Skills: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of computers (MS Office), familiarity with the POCSO Act, CBSE rules, and NCERT, attendance in educational workshops, Hindi communication skills, and CTET/STET qualification.

2. Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) - Sanskrit & Social Studies

  • Academic Qualification: Master's or Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks in the elective subject and 50% marks in aggregate.
    • TGT Sanskrit: Sanskrit as an elective subject at the Degree level.
    • TGT Social Studies: Any two subjects out of History, Geography, Economics, or Political Science (one must be either History or Geography).
  • Professional Qualification: B.Ed. degree or its equivalent.
  • Age Limit: 21 to 50 years as of July 01, 2026.

3. Special Educator (Contractual)

  • Mandatory Qualification: Class X passed with a certificate program in Early Childhood Special Education, OR Class XII passed with a 1-year Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education / Diploma in teaching young children (Deaf and Hard of Hearing), OR Class X passed with a certificate in a Care Giving Programme, or any equivalent qualification approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
  • Desirable: Proficiency in MS Office, ability to communicate in Hindi, and CTET/STET qualification.

Age Relaxations (Applicable to HM & TGT Posts):

  • Women & PwD Candidates: Up to a maximum of 5 years.
  • Ex-Servicemen: Deduct service period from actual age; if the resulting age doesn't exceed the limit by more than 3 years, they are eligible.
  • Former Air Force School Staff: Age relaxation up to the extent of service rendered if they served for at least 2 continuous years as PGT/TGT or 3 years as PRT/NTT.
  • Serving Staff: No upper age limit for current serving staff of Air Force Schools, provided they have at least 2 years of residual service remaining.

Detailed Selection Process

The selection of academic staff involves a structured three-tier process:

  1. Written Test (70 Marks): A 2-hour test consisting of 30 objective questions (1 mark each), 10 subjective questions (2 marks each), and 2 descriptive essay questions (10 marks each). It is purely qualifying in nature. Candidates must score at least 60% to move to the next stage. Note: Candidates who have previously taught in other Air Force Schools for a minimum of 2 years in the same category are exempt from this test.
  2. Teaching Aptitude Test (130 Marks): Candidates who qualify for the written exam must secure a minimum of 80 out of 130 marks to clear this stage.
  3. Interview (100 Marks): The final round evaluates subject matter expertise, communication capability, and co-curricular skills that can benefit the school.
