Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

Applicants must be citizens of India, subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, or eligible Tibetan refugees/persons of Indian origin with required Government of India certificates and mandatory local language proficiency.

2. Age Limit (As on July 1, 2026)

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years

Upper Age Relaxations:

  • SC / ST: 5 Years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
  • PwBD Candidates: 10 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5 Years
  • Persons Affected by 1984 Riots: 5 Years

3. Educational Qualification (As on August 9, 2026)

  • Must be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution approved by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies.
  • Valid mark sheets/degree certificates establishing graduation completion on or before August 9, 2026, are required.

4. Mandatory Work Experience (As on August 9, 2026)

  • Minimum 1-year post-qualification work experience in Clerical or Officer Cadre in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank (RRB) listed in the Second Schedule of the RBI Act, 1934.
  • Selected candidates with prior officer experience in Scheduled Commercial Banks may receive up to 2 advance increments based on job profile match.

5. Local Language Proficiency

Applicants must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking the specified local language of the chosen state (Garo or Khasi for Meghalaya). Candidates who did not study the language in Class 10th or 12th must clear the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT).


Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of four structured phases:

  1. Online Written Examination:
    • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 25 Questions | 25 Marks | 35 Mins
    • Data Analysis & Interpretation: 25 Questions | 25 Marks | 35 Mins
    • English Language: 25 Questions | 25 Marks | 25 Mins
    • Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Questions | 25 Marks | 35 Mins
    • General / Economy / Banking Awareness: 50 Questions | 50 Marks | 50 Mins
    • Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer. Minimum sectional cut-offs apply (40% for General/EWS, 35% for Reserved categories).
  2. Document Screening: Verification of eligibility documents submitted online.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Qualifying test for applicants who did not study the local state language in 10th/12th standard.
  4. Personal Interview: Conducted for 50 marks. Minimum qualifying score is 45% (22.50 marks) for SC/ST and 50% (25 marks) for other categories.
