Online applications are invited from eligible male and female Indian citizens for appointment to 282 Group 'A' combatised Medical Officer posts across Central Armed Police Forces (BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB) and Assam Rifles. Eligibility Criteria & Qualification Requirements
- Super Specialist Medical Officer (Second-in-Command): MBBS degree from a recognized university, permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council, completion of compulsory rotating internship, Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in the relevant specialty, and DM or M.Ch. (or equivalent) with 3 years of post-PG experience in the super-specialty.
- Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant): MBBS degree, compulsory internship completion, permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council, and PG Degree/Diploma in the concerned specialty with 1.5 years of experience post-PG Degree or 2.5 years of experience post-PG Diploma.
- Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant): Recognized MBBS degree, permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council, and completion of compulsory rotating internship. Candidates currently undergoing internship are eligible provided they complete it before appointment.
Age Limits & Category Relaxations
- Super Specialist Medical Officer: Maximum age limit is 50 years as of September 08, 2026.
- Specialist Medical Officer: Maximum age limit is 40 years as of September 08, 2026.
- Medical Officer: Maximum age limit is 30 years as of September 08, 2026.
- Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates; up to 3 years for OBC (NCL); up to 5 years for Civilian Central Government Servants; up to 5 years for Army Medical Corps SSCOs. Cumulative relaxation goes up to 10 years for SC/ST Govt Servants/SSCOs and 8 years for OBC.{inAds}
Selection Procedure
- Stage 1 - Documentation Verification: Candidates must present original admit cards along with original age, educational, internship, registration, and caste certificates.
- Stage 2 - Interview (200 Marks): Assesses academic field ability, general knowledge, personality, and leadership qualities. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% (80 out of 200) across all categories.
- Stage 3 - Physical Standard Test (PST): Male minimum height is 157.5 cm (relaxable by 2 cm for candidates belonging to Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Ladakh, Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Dogras, Marathas and 3 cm for ST). Female minimum height is 142 cm. Male chest measurement must be 77 cm unexpanded and 82 cm expanded.
- Stage 4 - Medical Examination Test (MET) & RME: Candidates passing PST undergo medical testing. Unfit candidates can apply for Review Medical Examination (RME) within 24 hours of receiving the unfitness memo.
Pay Scales & Promotional Avenues (DACP Scheme)
- Super Specialist Medical Officer: Pay Level-12 (Rs 78,800 - 2,09,200) + Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) and Central Govt benefits. Upgraded under DACP to Level-13 after 4 years, Level-13A after 3 years, and Level-14 after 4 years.
- Specialist Medical Officer: Pay Level-11 (Rs 67,700 - 2,08,700) + NPA. Upgraded under DACP to Level-12 after 2 years, Level-13 after 4 years, Level-13A after 3 years, and Level-14 after 4 years.
- Medical Officer: Pay Level-10 (Rs 56,100 - 1,77,500) + NPA. Upgraded under DACP to Level-11 after 4 years, Level-12 after 5 years, Level-13 after 4 years, Level-13A after 3 years, and Level-14 after 4 years (with 20 years regular service).

- UR / OBC / EWS Male Candidates: Rs. 400/- payable via online payment gateway.
- Exempted Categories: Female candidates, SC, ST, and Ex-Servicemen are totally exempt from application fee payment.
