Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has released an official notification for the engagement of Apprentices for a one-year duration across its North Eastern Region (NER) covering Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. Eligible candidates holding ITI, Diploma, or Degree qualifications can apply online starting from 25 August 2026 to 10 September 2026.

Educational Qualification & Monthly Stipend
- ITI (Electrician): Full-Time ITI in Electrician trade. Monthly Stipend: ₹13,500.
- Diploma (Civil / Electrical): Full-Time 3-year Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering. Monthly Stipend: ₹15,000 (Includes ₹5,450 DBT amount).
- Graduate (Civil / Electrical): Full-Time 4-year B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Civil or Electrical Engineering. Monthly Stipend: ₹17,500 (Includes ₹6,150 DBT amount).
- Accommodation Allowance: An additional ₹2,500 per month will be paid if the company does not provide or you do not avail accommodation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be Indian citizens aged 18 years or above.
- Qualifications must be acquired through full-time regular courses from recognized institutes (Distance or online learning modes are not eligible).
- Candidates must have passed their final qualifying examination between 11 September 2024 and 10 September 2026 (within 2 years from the application closing date).
- Candidates with more than 1 year of job experience or those who have previously undergone apprenticeship training are ineligible.
- Applicants must possess an active, Aadhaar-seeded, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) enabled bank account.

Step 1: Portal Registration
- For ITI Trade: Register as a candidate on the NAPS Portal and complete 100% of your profile.
- For Diploma & Graduate Degrees: Register on the NATS Portal and fully update your profile.
Step 2: Collect Your Registration Number
Note down your generated NAPS or NATS enrolment/registration number.
Step 3: Submit Application on POWERGRID Website
Visit the official POWERGRID website (www.powergrid.in). Navigate to Careers > Engagement of Apprentices > Apply Online. Select the North Eastern Region (NER) and fill in your personal, educational, and portal registration details.
Step 4: Upload Required Documents
Upload clear scanned copies of your educational certificates, mark sheets, age proof (Matriculation/Aadhaar), caste/disability certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar-seeded bank cancelled cheque/passbook first page, photo, and signature.
Step 5: Final Submission
Verify all entered details and submit your application. No application fee is required. Apply for only one state/trade, as multiple applications will lead to rejection.
