Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has officially released the notification for the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2026. This initiative aims to provide financial support to meritorious students from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) to pursue higher studies in government or private colleges across India. Eligible candidates who have passed Class 10 or Class 12/Diploma can submit their online applications before September 30, 2026.

General Scholarship (After Class 12th or Diploma)
- Academic Requirement: Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) or a Diploma in the academic year 2023-24, 2024-25, or 2025-26 with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Admission Status: Must have secured regular 1st-year admission in the academic year 2026-27 for Medicine (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS), Engineering (BE, BTECH, BArch), Graduation in any discipline, Integrated Courses, Diploma, or Vocational Courses/ITIs through government-recognized institutes.
- Income Criteria: Total annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹4,50,000 per annum.
- Seat Distribution: 80 candidates per Division (40 Male and 40 Female; gender slots are interchangeable in case of intra-category shortage).
Special Scholarship (After Class 10th)
- Academic Requirement: Candidates must have passed Class 10 (or equivalent) in the academic year 2023-24, 2024-25, or 2025-26 with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Admission Status: Must have secured regular 1st-year admission in the academic year 2026-27 for Intermediate (10+2 pattern), Vocational, Diploma, or ITI courses through government-recognized institutions.
- Income Criteria: Total annual family income from all sources must not exceed ₹4,50,000 per annum.
- Seat Distribution: 40 candidates per Division (20 Boys and 20 Girls).
Scholarship Amount Breakdown
- Medicine Stream (MBBS/BAMS/BHMS/BDS): ₹50,000 per annum (payable in two installments of ₹25,000 each).
- Engineering Stream (BE/BTech/BArch): ₹40,000 per annum (payable in two installments of ₹20,000 each).
- General Graduation / Integrated / Diploma / Vocational / ITI: ₹20,000 per annum (payable in two installments of ₹10,000 each).
- Special Scholarship (After Class 10th): ₹15,000 per annum (payable in two installments of ₹7,500 each).
Terms, Conditions, and Selection Details
- Selection Process: Candidates are ranked strictly by academic merit based on PIN code routing to their respective LIC Division. In case of a tie in percentage, preference is given to students with lower parental income.
- Payment Mode: Direct Bank Transfer via NEFT. First installment is due on September 1, 2026, and the second installment on February 1, 2027.
- Renewal Conditions:
- Medicine & Engineering: Must score at least 55% marks/SGPA/CGPA and pass all subjects per semester.
- Graduation & Other Courses: Must score at least 50% marks/SGPA/CGPA and pass all subjects per semester.
- Special Scholarship (Class 10th): Must score at least 50% marks with a pass in all subjects in the 1st yearly exam.
- Ineligibility: Students pursuing studies via correspondence, part-time, evening classes, open universities, or self-study courses (such as CA, CS, ICMAI) are not eligible. Candidates receiving scholarships from private trusts are also ineligible (Government scholarship recipients remain eligible).
