The Meghalaya Early Childhood Development Mission Society (MECDMS), under the Social Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya, has released an official recruitment notification for the empanelment of 300 ECD Nurse vacancies across various districts of Meghalaya. Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify for the ECD Nurse empanelment:
- Educational Qualification: Passed-out ANMs, GNMs, Post-Basic Nursing, or B.Sc Nursing.
- Mandatory Registration: Valid active registration with the Meghalaya Nursing Council (MNC).
- Residency: Open to residents of Meghalaya; preference will be given to candidates residing in the respective districts and blocks.
- Gender: Open to both male and female candidates.
- Age Limit: Candidates must be less than 35 years of age as of 27th October 2026.
Qualification-Wise Selection Ratio
The total 300 positions will be populated district-wise based on diploma and graduation merit following this quota ratio:
- B.Sc Nursing: 50% of positions
- GNM: 25% of positions
- ANM: 25% of positions
Note: Merit lists are generated district-wise separately for each qualification. If any qualification category lacks sufficient applicants, positions will be filled from other categories in order of merit.

- South Garo Hills: 32 positions

Key Responsibilities
- Work as lactational support nurses at healthcare institutions.
- Train frontline healthcare workers, including ASHAs, AWWs, and CGHAs.

- Mentor cluster-level mentor teams and frontline staff.
- Support maternal mental health and community-level early childhood development.
