Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
Educational Qualifications
- For Medical Candidates: Must possess a Postgraduate Medical Degree (MD, MS, or DNB) or equivalent in the relevant discipline from a recognized University or Institute under the Residency Scheme.
- Super Specialty Eligibility: Candidates with MD/MS in General Medicine or General Surgery can apply for corresponding medical and surgical super-specialty departments. Candidates with an MD in Paediatrics can apply for Neonatology. For Trauma & Emergency, candidates with MD/MS in Emergency Medicine, Obs & Gynae, Orthopaedics, Anaesthesia, or General Surgery are eligible. MD Pathology candidates can apply for Transfusion Medicine. MD Respiratory Medicine candidates can apply for Pulmonary Medicine.
- For Dentistry Candidates: Must hold an MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from a recognized University or Institute.
- For Non-Medical Candidates: Must hold an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in the respective discipline: Human Anatomy (Anatomy), Medical Physiology/Physiology (Physiology), Medical Biochemistry/Biochemistry (Biochemistry), Medical Microbiology/Microbiology (Microbiology), or Medical Pharmacology/Pharmacology (Pharmacology).{inAds}
Age Limit (as of the closing date of application)
- Maximum Age: 45 years.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get relaxation up to 5 years. OBC candidates get up to 3 years. For PwBD candidates, age relaxation is 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST categories.
Salary and Pay Scale
- Medical Candidates: Appointed under the 7th CPC at Pay Level-11 of the Pay Matrix with an initial entry pay of Rs. 67,700 per month plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) and other applicable allowances.
- Non-Medical Candidates (M.Sc. with Ph.D.): Appointed at Pay Level-10 under the 7th CPC with a starting pay of Rs. 56,100 per month plus other admissible allowances.
Selection Process & Application Fees
How Selection is Made
Candidates will first be shortlisted based on their online applications and document verification. The final selection is determined solely by the candidate's performance in the personal interview.
The interview will take place at the Director's Board Room, Medical College Building, AIIMS Guwahati, starting at 9:00 AM, with document verification beginning at 8:00 AM. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.

- UR / OBC Category: Rs. 1,000 + applicable transaction charges.
- SC / ST / EWS Category: Rs. 500 + applicable transaction charges.
