Complete Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification
- Candidates must possess a Graduate Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent.
- Crucial Note: Candidates awaiting their final results of the prescribed educational qualification are not eligible to apply. Your qualifying degree must have been completed on or before the closing date (August 14, 2026).
2. Age Limit (As of July 1, 2026)
- Normal Age Group: 20 to 33 Years (Candidates must be born between July 2, 1993, and July 1, 2006, for the UR/EWS category).
- Upper Age Relaxations:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years (Up to 36 Years)
- SC/ST: 5 Years (Up to 38 Years)
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Relaxation of 10 to 15 Years based on category.
- Ex-Servicemen (ExSM): Relaxation in upper age as per standard central government rules.
3. Medical Standards (Strictly A-2 Category)
Since Section Controllers are responsible for managing real-time train movements and traffic operations, the medical guidelines are exceptionally rigorous:
- General Fitness: Physically fit in all respects.
- Distant Vision: 6/9, 6/9 without glasses (No fogging test).
- Near Vision: Sn 0.6, 0.6 without glasses.
- Compulsory Tests: Must pass tests for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Night Vision, and Myopic Vision.
- Laser Surgery Exclusion: Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery or any other corrective refractive eye surgery are completely ineligible for this post.{inAds}
Application Fees & Refund Policy
The application fee varies by category and includes a partial refund policy for candidates who actually sit for the CBT:
- For General, OBC, and EWS Candidates: ₹500. Out of this, ₹400 will be refunded (minus bank charges) upon appearing in the Computer Based Test (CBT).
- For SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, and Economically Backward Class (EBC) Candidates: ₹250. This entire fee of ₹250 will be refunded (minus bank charges) after attending the CBT.
- Note on Fee Refund: The refund will be directly credited to the bank account seeded with the candidate's Aadhaar number. Ensure your Aadhaar-linked bank account is active.
Recruitment and Selection Process
The selection for the Section Controller post is highly competitive and comprises the following stages:
- Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT): A single-stage online exam of 120 minutes containing 100 questions.
- Syllabus Weightage: Analytical & Mathematical Capability (60 Questions), Logical Capability (20 Questions), and Mental Reasoning (20 Questions).
- Negative Marking: There is a negative marking of 1/3rd of the marks for each incorrect answer.
- Stage 2: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Candidates equal to 8 times the vacancy count per RRB will be shortlisted for the CBAT based on CBT merit. Candidates must score a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each test battery to qualify.
- Final Merit Weightage: 70% weightage will be given to CBT marks and 30% weightage to CBAT marks.
- Stage 3: Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination: Shortlisted candidates in a 1:1 ratio will be called for document verification followed by the mandatory A-2 medical test.

If you already created an account in 2024, 2025, or 2026, log in using those same credentials. - Fill the Form: Carefully fill in your personal, educational, and community details. You can only apply to one chosen RRB. Applying to multiple RRBs will lead to immediate rejection of all forms.
- Live Photo & Signature: You must capture and upload a clear live photograph of yourself as instructed on the portal, along with a scanned signature in running handwriting (do not use block letters).
