The Directorate of Health Services Medical Education & Research (DME), Meghalaya, Shillong has officially released the advertisement notification for admission into MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and BUMS courses under the Meghalaya State Quota seats for the academic session 2026–2027. Eligible and interested candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 can submit their application online through the official portal.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Residency & Citizenship
- Candidates must be indigenous inhabitants or Permanent Residents of the State of Meghalaya.
- Permanent residency status for higher education admissions will follow the guidelines of the Political Department (including Order No. POL. 97/74/174 dated 10th June 1983 and No. POL.97/74/Pt-1/221 dated 21st March 2014).
2. Educational Qualification
- Must have passed the 10+2 level examination or equivalent from a recognized University, Board, or Authority.
- Mandatory subjects in 10+2: Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology, and English.
- NEET UG 2026 Qualification: Applicants MUST have qualified NEET UG 2026. Applications submitted without the NEET UG 2026 result sheet will be rejected without consideration.
3. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: Candidates must complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2026.
- Upper Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying.
4. Medical Fitness
- Applicants must be certified as medically fit.{inAds}
Selection Process & Bond Requirements
- Merit List & Ranking: Eligible candidates will be ranked on merit based on their NEET UG 2026 score within their respective reservation categories.
- Reservation Policy: The final selection of eligible applicants will strictly adhere to the Reservation Policy of the State of Meghalaya.
- Screening & Counselling: The list of candidates eligible for screening/counselling and the dates will be published on the official government portal.
- Notice Board Intimation: The merit list and nomination results will be published on the official website, local dailies (Shillong & Tura), and displayed on notice boards of DME Shillong and DM&HO Tura. No individual intimation letter will be issued to selected candidates.
- Surety Bond & Rural Service (MBBS): Selected candidates for MBBS must submit their acceptance letter, collect nomination papers personally within the specified timeframe, and execute a Surety Bond valued at ₹30,00,000/- (Rupees Thirty Lakhs) along with a commitment for 5 (five) years of Rural Service according to their category. Failing to report within the prescribed date will lead to immediate cancellation of nomination, which will then be passed to the next candidate on the waiting list.
Warning against False Information: If any document or information provided (including marks or ST/SC/OST/PRC certificates) is found to be false, fabricated, or incorrect at any stage, the candidate's admission will be immediately cancelled. The applicant will be debarred for 3 years from seeking admission under the State Quota, and appropriate legal/criminal action will be initiated.
