Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Enterprise of the Government of India, has issued an official recruitment advertisement for experienced engineering personnel in the North Eastern Region (NER). The engagement is strictly on a temporary contractual basis for an initial period of 24 months (extendable up to a maximum of 5 years) for the Comprehensive Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Scheme in Arunachal Pradesh.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
1. Field Engineer (Electrical) [Post ID: 563]
- Essential Qualification: Full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Electrical / Electrical (Power) / Electrical & Electronics / Power Systems Engineering / Power Engineering (Electrical) from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxed to pass marks for reserved categories).
- Field Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in design, engineering, construction, testing, or commissioning in rural electrification (RE), distribution management systems (DMS), sub-transmission (ST), transmission lines (TLs), or sub-stations (S/S). Experience in PSU or listed power sector companies is preferred.
2. Field Engineer (Civil) [Post ID: 564]
- Essential Qualification: Full-time B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engg.) in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (relaxed to pass marks for reserved categories).
- Field Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience in design, engineering, construction, testing, or commissioning in rural electrification (RE), distribution management systems (DMS), sub-transmission (ST), transmission lines (TLs), or sub-stations (S/S). Experience in PSU or listed power sector companies is preferred.
Age Relaxation Rules
- OBC (NCL): 3 Years
- SC / ST: 5 Years
- PwBD: 10 Years (UR/EWS), 13 Years (OBC-NCL), 15 Years (SC/ST)
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India rules
- Ex-POWERGRID Contractual Personnel: Age relaxation equal to service period in POWERGRID as FTB/FE (up to a maximum of 5 years over and above category relaxation).
Selection Process & Exam Scheme
Selection is strictly based on performance in a Personal Interview. However, POWERGRID reserves the right to hold a Screening Test if application volume is high.
- Screening Test Structure (If conducted):
- Duration: 1 Hour (60 minutes)
- Total Questions: 75 MCQs (1 mark each, no negative marking)
- Technical Knowledge Test: 50 Questions (B.Tech syllabus)
- Aptitude Test: 25 Questions (English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness)
- Minimum Qualifying Marks in Test: 40% (UR/EWS), 30% (Reserved)
- Interview Qualifying Marks: 40% for Unreserved/EWS and 30% for Reserved categories.{inAds}
