Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualifications

Age Limit

  • General Candidates: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 60 years.
  • Retired Teachers: Retired teachers from State Govt/KVS/NVS/Recognized CBSE Schools can apply up to the age of 65 years, provided they are medically fit.

Educational Qualifications

For TGT (English, Mathematics, Khasi, Science, Social Science, Hindi)

  • Four years integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT / NCTE recognized institution in the concerned subject OR Bachelor's Honours Degree / Bachelor's Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized University.
  • Mandatory Requirement: B.Ed. Degree is essential for all general TGT posts.
  • Specific Subject Combinations:
    • TGT English/Khasi/Hindi: Studied the concerned language in all three years of degree course.
    • TGT Mathematics: Bachelor's Degree in Maths along with Physics and any one of Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, or Statistics.
    • TGT Science: Studied Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry during all three years of graduation.
    • TGT Social Science: Studied any two of History, Geography, Economics, or Political Science at graduation level (where History or Geography is mandatory).{inAds}

For TGT Special Categories

  • TGT Music: Bachelor's Degree with Music from a recognized University/Institution.
  • TGT Art: Degree in Fine Arts/Crafts OR B.Ed. Degree in Fine Arts from Regional College of Education.
  • TGT Physical Education Teacher: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or a 4-year integrated B.P.Ed degree with at least 50% marks.
  • TGT Librarian: Bachelor's degree in Library Science / Library & Information Science (minimum 50% marks) or integrated M.Lib.I.Sc. degree.

For Hostel Warden (Male & Female)

  • Four years integrated degree course of Regional College of Education of NCERT or other NCTE recognized institution OR Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university/institute.
  • Desirable: Experience in a similar capacity, experience in residential schools, and knowledge of regional languages.

Walk-In Interview Schedule & Venue

  • Venue: Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Eastern West Khasi Hills District, Mairang.
  • TGT Interview Date & Time: 24th August 2026
  • Hostel Warden Interview Date & Time: 25th August 2026

Important Interview Instructions: Candidates must bring all original documents supporting their eligibility along with one set of self-attested photocopies and two passport-sized photos.
